Founded in love. Built for community.
The KR.I.S. Foundation was born out of one mother's promise — that no child's potential should be cut short, and no family should walk alone.

For Kristopher
Why this work exists.
In 2013, our founder Shetika Davis lost her son Kristopher to a car accident. Out of that loss came a promise — to make sure other young people had access to encouragement, guidance, and opportunity, especially during seasons of transition or uncertainty.
Kristopher had moved into a neighborhood where community centers had been taken away. The basketball goals had been taken away. The kids only saw what was right there on their block. The KR.I.S. Foundation was created so the next generation could see — and reach for — everything beyond it.
KR.I.S. stands for Keep Reaching Inside Self — a reminder that growth starts within.
We believe when you support the whole child, engage the whole family, and connect the whole community, healing and growth become possible.

Founder
Shetika Davis
Shetika Davis is the CEO and founder of The KR.I.S. Foundation, The Bridge Network, and Bridging the Gap Learning Center. From early childhood education to in-home childcare advocacy to youth trade exposure, her work weaves a continuous net of support around Nashville's families.
Her approach is simple: meet the whole family where they are, and give every child a real shot at a wide-open future.
Community Partnership
We don't do this alone.
We work alongside schools, childcare providers, families, and community organizations to strengthen the support systems around Nashville's youth. If your school, congregation, or organization wants to partner — we'd love to talk.
